Hotel block recommendations

Hotel block recommendations

Any recommendations for hotels with a good group rate in the Islip/Babylon area?

Our wedding is next Memorial Day weekend and the rates I’ve gotten so far are fairly high in my opinion ($149 & $159). My cousin is getting married this weekend and got the Best Western in Massapequa for $119!

Thank you! :)

I used this site & found it very helpful to collect and compare quotes at once (although all were crazy high for my date and location...)

The only one I can think of is the new marriot in central islip. I don't know the pricing for them though

Try calling Kleinfeld Hotel Blocks.. it's a free service and they do all the shopping around for you for location, pricing, amenities.. everything! A lot of girls on here have had a great experience with them.

They quoted me around the same, if not more. Also they do not allow alcohol. I'm not sure if that matters to you but we were told our guests couldn't even bring there drinks to the outside area. The hotel is gorgeous though...

I was quoted $139 for Labor Day weekend 2015 at the Hilton Garden Inn Islip/MacArthur Airport

Four Points Sheritan in Plainview might be a little further than you're looking for but they were resonable. Nice clean rooms with friendly staff and they even offer a complementary shuttle if u book 10 rooms!

That's where I booked my hotel. I was quoted $109 a night but it's not a holiday weekend. So far they have been the cheapest though. My venue is in Bayshore and it was also one of the closest hotels, there doesn't seem to be any hotels on the south shore(that are nice anyways!)

Thank you! I ended up getting up our block there too. It was more expensive than I wanted it to be ($159/night), but it made the most sense. Other hotels were only $10-20 dollars less and were further away.

P.S. For anyone that's interested I used Kleinfeld's to get rates and it was great!

I'm getting married the same day as you and waiting for Kleinfelds to get back to me with the rates. I'm sure I'll have the same problem. How many rooms did you block?

I did 10 rooms set up as a courtesy block so we’re not financially obligated to anything if the rooms don’t fill up.

I feel bad that I didn’t find something cheaper but that’s what I get for picking a holiday weekend! Good luck! ?

I have a feeling the Fairfield will be more since this year was ~$199 per night. I just mapped it and they're both 15 minutes away from LOB...plus the convenience that it is right next to MacArthur (or do you think people won't like being near the airport?). I guess I'll fill out the paperwork for Kleinfeld and see what they come up with.

Are we supposed to block more than one hotel? We have a lot of people traveling, I have no idea how to estimate for rooms or anything...

I'm not sure if we should do more than one. I definitely need to look at my list again before I finalize the amount of rooms. Some only do 10 without obligation but I'm hoping to only block one hotel and get a shuttle

Find out how many rooms you can block without any financial obligation (Kleinfeld's will include that info in the spreadsheet they send you). You can definitely do more than one hotel, even if you just have a few rooms at one as a backup. But like one of the other girls said, its probably easier to just do 1 if you're providing a shuttle.

I got the quote a little over a week ago.
