hotel block stress...

33 rooms blocked and none left!! It's great since it's mostly all of our friends, but I can't help but feel bad for all of the people who just got invites and can't get a room now =/ There are no more rooms left on the block unfortunately.

Was told awhile ago that we'd be able to add more rooms no problem, but another bride blocked all of the rest of the rooms =( If any of you brides on here booked at the viana hotel on may 25 let me know because I need your leftover rooms!

Did you also run into the problem because of the holiday weekend?? There were so many hotels that I called that said there was a three night MINIMUM and that the rooms PER NIGHT were over $250! I nearly lost my mind, until I found one extremely helpful woman who was able to block 15 rooms at $150 for a one night minimum. Good grief!

@dani10 is getting married that weekend too and is having the same problem at a different hotel. I wasn't able to get a room the whole hotel is booked. I think because it's memorial day weekend the hotels are booking up fast.

nah, no 3 day minimum... I blocked 33 or 34 rooms right away and there was no problem at all. Another bride blocked the rest of the hotel rooms at the hotel though =/

I had an issue with blockings as well... they original told me to go with a lower number bc 'we could always add more' and then when I tried to add more they said no bc they were almost booked out of regular rooms at regular costs. I have told everyone about the rooms and at this point if they haven't booked a room for the reduced rate, then its their problem. They will have to pay extra.... I did my job, not much else to do.

If the rooms are all blocked, I would maybe look into other hotels in the area just to suggest to people. You don't need to make another block or have another shuttle but if you have people traveling from out of the area, they may need somewhere to stay. But like futuremap said, you did your job, there's not much else you can do since it is a holiday weekend. And so many people want to enjoy themselves all for you so that has to feel good :)

We were way ahead of this hotel game-we were allowed 10 per block so when 6/7 were booked and waiting we booked the other 4 ourselves for them to open more and so on and so on-everyone ended up booking and we transferred the rooms to their names!

Your block is at the Viana, right? I hate to ask this, but did you speak with Erin? She's the only one I ever got accurate info from. I had them telling guests on the DAY OF my wedding that there were no rooms....but somehow everyone stayed there, so unless they slept in the elevator there were rooms available. Personally, I'd check again. They have 116 rooms!

I've spoken to Erin a few times via e-mail and I made it pretty clear that I want to add more rooms, and she said on both occasions that there were no more to add... Do you think it's annoying if I e-mail her again just to check to see if anything else has become available for that night? Last time I emailed her was probably like 2-3 weeks ago
