Hotel Block worries (LaQuinta)

I am reading all these horrible stories about LaQuinta in Garden City

Of course that is where I blocked rooms. Anyone have any other suggetions on where to block that is not far from WM (possibly with a shuttle).

I would rather change now that after everyone books

Mine didnt have a shuttle but I booked at the Hampton Inn which is off the Meadowbrook by the source mall.

Try the Hilton Garden Inn. They don't have shuttles, they give car vouchers I believe which is a little better because then people can leave when they want.

LaQuinta wasn't ALL TOO BAD and if you stay on top of them and GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING then you should be ok. They had a lot of transitions in the past year and I think that has to do with the problems the 2010 girls had.

But DEF check the Hilton Garden Inn. They were very nice there!

im terrified to even block the rooms there--- its right across the street from FT..... i dont knwo what to do!!!!

Hilton Garden Inn! We had our other block there. We didn't use it because it was more expensive than LQ. I really wish we HAD used Hilton Garden because LQ was a nightmare...start to finish!

what about Holiday inn by Chateau Briand? or is that too far?
not sure if they have shuttles though.

does Wm recommend anyone?

I had a great experience with La Quinta for my room blocks but that was in August of '09 maybe some things have changed.

Our wedding was at WM and we used La Quinta and didn't have any problems. It actually worked out really well because the bar stayed open way later than they said which my friends and family loved. The issue I did have was with the cab company that they recommended that we use along with the shuttle (we had too many people to fit in one shuttle). They were rude to some of my guests and refused to leave WM until they got paid when I was told what I paid in the beginning was for the round trip.

I'm using the Hampton Inn in Garden City. Its not far from there. THey have been great so far! But no shuttle.

I agree- it wasn't an awful experience. I had gotten the number of rooms blocked written in my contract- when they tried to decrease the number (thinking I wouldn't notice maybe??) I showed them the contract. Then I just stayed on top of them.

Our major issue was the night of the wedding. We had rented out a conference room. it wasn't ready the time it wasn't supposed to be...yet they started cleaning before our party was even over and kicked us out at the exact moment our time was up (even though we had gotten in there late).

The biggest change was the person in charge of the room blocks is new. So after that switch alot of stuff starting happening!

Hampton Inn Jericho-Westbury - it's on Jericho Turnpike right off of Brush Hollow Road (on the North side). They gave me a $139 rate and that includes hot breakfast every morning and a shuttle to and from the RH

Ask to speak to Samantha George. You can go there at any time and ask to see the rooms.

Oh and BTW, their rooms sleep up to 6 because they are two queen beds and a pullout.

DH and I stayed at the jericho/westbury hampton inn

they had a shuttle.

we went nuts, blocking rooms there and at the marriot in plainview (which i LOVED the rooms there)...
in total, out of 40 rooms, ONE was booked...
we didn't even get the group rate because we booked our room late.
but we did use the shuttle.

the room was nice, dh loved their coffee... the guy at the check in was a but of a diick, but it was like 1:30am and he had a pisssed of bride in his face.

Try Viana Hotel and Spa. It blew every other place out of the water - rooms, service, food (game room!!)!!! We are at WM and are booked there. Talk to Rita in sales. :)
