For those of you who blocked rooms for oot guests, how did you go about doing this process? FH and myself went to check out rooms today and the person in charge won't be in until Monday. Just wondering what we should expect?

We didnt actually do the blocking but they should give you a certain amount of rooms at a discounted rate...and your guests have until I think 1 month prior to book them at that rate. Ask about a shuttle service, if its offered free on a certain amount of rooms booked or if there is a fee. Also ask about the bar being open if there is one at the hotel. Also ask about the OOT bags and how they work it and if they will even do it.

I called up and asked the price of a room block for a wedding. We blocked a total of like 30 rooms and if we get 25 booked, we get our bridal suite for free the night of the wedding. The hotel gave us little cards with the hotel-blocking name and the price and everything for us to include in the invitations for guests. They're also going to give the OOT bags and info pamphlets to our guests at check-in. Its a fairly easy process -- you can do it all over the phone and via fax or mail (for the contract). Super easy!
