My mom is telling me i should give everyone options incase they dont want to stay at the place i pick. i said no, i'm picking whatever hotel i pick and if they are not happy with that they can be the adult they are look for a new one themself. just like i have in the past when the hotel the couple choose was too much or whatever reason
i know its close to that wonderful time of the month for me, and i'm feeling like crap from allergies but she really knows how to make something so stupid and little soo annoying and bug me

Re: Hotel Blocking
I do not think that you have to give them options. They already have options.... go with the room block, or find their own hotel room!

Re: Hotel Blocking
That's frustrating! I guess if you have one that maybe around like $200+, then it could be good to have a second one closer to $100 a night, but you definitely don't have to. It's ridiculous that people expect you to take care of EVERYTHING! I've never been to a wedding where the bride even researched local hotels, nonetheless blocked out some rooms at a good price or provided a shuttle. Ugh.. I feel like LI is just a completely different world!

Re: Hotel Blocking
I picked one. They can opt to stay somewhere else, although I think that is kind of lame. It's ONE NIGHT.

Completely agree. At first I had that same thought of maybe making multiple blocks, but I think that's just more of a pain for you! If someone doesn't like it, tell them there are plenty of other choices and they can handle it.

Re: Hotel Blocking
I just finished and ordered cards for $y hotel block online to send out w my save the dates!
For me, I wanted to give people the option of where to stay etc. I did the reg hotel block on the front side of the card w the info, rates, shuttle service, etc. On the back (smaller ha) I put other hotels close to the reception, phone numbers, and miles. And a note 'no shuttle service provided from these'.
Its only a room so to me it didn't matter on giving other options. People are going to stay where they want anyways.

THIS! I was going to do a value room block (Executive Inn) and a more costly option, but some people told me they can get their own hotel without my assistance.
Btw I wonder if Four Points Sheraton is the only hotel that won't charge you if you don't meet the minimum. We were going to book therr, but the shuttle is $400!

You already have enough on your plate. That is just ridic. If they don't like the place then they can find their own.

hotel blocking is the next thing on the list... just got off the phone with my mom and she brought this up again. she really knows how to get under my skin, guess its a mom thing. but i had the good come backs this time
mom - well i want MY friend to have options, they are from out of state ya know, its the nice thing to do me - well all my friends are outta borough also and they can find a hotel if they dont like what i picked. its not like i'm picking a cheap motel with hookers outside!

That is total BS!!! If they don't like the hotel, then there is such a thing as the internet and they can find their own rooms!!

Re: Hotel Blocking
I think giving them one hotel choice is completely fine.....I would assume that you aren't choosing a hotel that charges $300/night, so guests shouldn't really have a prob with cost.
