Hotel Blocking seems to be a topic lately

I am getting married at atlantis marine world and think I need to start looking at hotels to block. The problem is there isnt too many out there. Has anyone ever stayed at a hotel that is close to the Aquarium out there? Any ideas would be helpful

I was just at Atlantis last week with my cousins!! What a great spot!! I am not sure if it is close enough but I blocked rooms at the Marriott in Islandia (I am getting married in St. James). It is exit 58 off the LIE. They gave me a good price and free transportation. FM me if you want more information. I know there is a Hayatt Regency that is probably closer right off the LIE.

I blocked rooms at the Holiday Inn in Riverhead. I haven't stayed there but they were very accomodating!

I was in a wedding there two weeks ago. They blocked rooms at two hotels. One of them being the Best Western. It's 3 miles up the road. I would definitely check them out. They also had a room that we used downstairs to hang out in before we headed over there. When the bride returns from her honeymoon I will ask her what other hotel she blocked rooms at and what rates she got.

Also, I have some suggestions of things that you may want to change or keep your eye out for while you are there. Being as I'm planning my own wedding, I'm very critical of what is going on. Definitely some things there I would change. It's a beautiful venue and everyone had a great time...just some things that couldn't have been slightly different and therefore better. FM me!

I think you basically have 2 choices - the Holiday Inn or the Best Western

The problem is - almost every bride that is getting married in Riverhead or the wineries is booking those same hotels. So, they know that if you don't book, there is a good chance someone else will. That means they don't really have a reason to bend over backwards for you.
