hotel blocks

when u booked ur hotel blocks, did you go there to check out the rooms & everything or just book over the phone?

We just booked over the phone. We've stayed at Marriots before so we weren't worried. The pics on the website are usually pretty accurate to what the rooms look like.

i booked in person....and i would suggest doing that. My contact there has been AMAZING and im not sure the service would be as great as if it were done over the phone.

i didn't book in person but i did visit the rooms before i signed the contract

i felt comfortable enough booking the marriott without seeing the rooms since i've been there before, but if we had decided to go with the Four Points Sheraton I probably would've gone to see the rooms since I had no idea what my guests would be going into!

I didn't check out the rooms because there were remodeling but we are going this weekend.

Love the customer service so far they called today to say all the remodeling was done except the lobby

i went around one day to like 5 different hotels and looked at all of them, cause i have issues and am anal....
so i looked and chose four points sheraton!

Ditto! Woodlands twin -- I went to see the Sheraton Four Points, the Hilton Garden Inn and the Inn at Fox Hollow (where we ultimately ended up setting up our block)

I would be happy to share the quotes I got!

We saw the rooms. We were given a tour actually three times (Fox Hollow Inn). Ray is awesome.

We went to hotels to see them. I am glad we did because the place we liked had a leaky ceiling where guests ate breakfast and when we walked towards the front we saw the columns falling apart in the front.

we went in person to see the guest rooms and also to see the private catering room where we'll be having the rehearsal dinner. we also wanted to check out the grounds b/c we wanted a hotel that we could use for formal photos.
