Hotel Blocks

When you book a hotel block, doesnt the hotel generally give you a discounted rate?

The two hotels that I looked into gave us a discounted rate. Did you try going through the group sales??

yup the courtyard marriott is the hotel that CLM uses they gave us a disocunted rated about $10 less than the cost

They are supposed to give a cheaper rate but I think it also depends on the hotel.

Yes, all of the hotels I looked into for our block gave me a discounted rate!

I am going to have to ask because the 'preferred rate' quoted is the exact rate I am getting when I go online. I wonder why?

Yea its usually only about $10 or 10%

My hotel block was $119 a night .. If guests would have booked online it would have been $169!
