Hotel Blocks
Hi everyone! I'm going to look at the Marriott Courtyard by Macarthur Airport on Saturday morning, and this is the first hotel I'm looking at to set up a block for the wedding.Does anyone have any advice or can anyone tell me what questions I should be asking because I'm absolutely lost!
Also, if anyone has any other recommendations for hotels in the area? I'll be getting married at the Bellport Country Club, and my bridesmaids and I will be sleeping at the hotel the night before so that we can get ready there the day of the wedding. There's probably 6 of us sleeping there plus my mom will be coming the next day so I'll need something that can accommodate all of us (plus having the makeup artist, 2 hair stylists, plus photographer there the day of).

Hotel Blocks
Some questions we had for the hotel were:-What time is check-in? Process for early check-in? What's the latest someone can check in?
-How many people to a room?
-Is breakfast provided? Is it complimentary?
-Property damage liability (FH has a few out of control cousins who damaged property at a hotel we stayed at for his aunt's wedding so I wanted to know WE wouldn't be liable for anything like that since the block is in our name)
-Cut-off date for reservations within the block
-When can people start making reservations?
-Is there a minimum percentage of rooms that need to be booked and if there is, are you required to pay the difference if they aren't booked?
I'm sure there are others but we didn't go with a list.. we just thought of them as the woman was talking.

This! Also, if it provides shuttle service. We went for a hotel that shuttle service and a bar/food service for when we get back from the wedding.

Hotel Blocks
Hey another Bellport bride! :DThose above are some awesome questions.
In terms of hotels, we looked at the following:
SpringHill Suites Long Island Brookhaven - 11 mins
Fairfield Inn Medford Long Island - 15 mins, shuttle with minimum number rooms
Residence Inn Long Island Holtsville - 15 mins
Similarly, I will be staying over with my bridesmaids the night before and getting ready there, so I really was leaning towards a place with suites. We went with Springhill Suites primarily due to proximity/size/first impressions.
All of them were more expensive than I would have liked, but this place gave us a good rate compared to the one quoted online for a generic booking. We just have to figure out shuttle service now if we decide we want to cover it.

Hello!! We are using the Hilton Garden in Ronkonkoma, we got them to give us $99 a night and $14 for brunch the next day... they also do not charge us if we do not book enough rooms.. a lot of places charge you for a hotel block. the Hilton also makes you your own website for your guests to book at.. try them out.

Could you FM me the quote you got from Springhill and Residence Inn? Springhill said to talk to them in June for quotes for the wedding block, but I could be moving early June so I'm not sure I can wait that long to see the hotel and get a quote.

My aunt and uncle are actually staying here for a wedding they're going to at the same venue in having my wedding. My only concern is that I didn't see on their website that they had any suites, but that's a great deal!

Hotel Blocks
Has anyone used Kleinfield hotel blocks? I've been emailing back and forth with the girl and there is a hotel by our venue that doesn't have any fee for holding up to ten rooms, I'm just nervous to sign a contract.

I used them for initial quotes a few months ago, but they didn't have any quotes for a few of the hotels in looking for so I emailed them myself to set up appointments. The woman I worked with at Kleinfelds was really nice though and helpful when I asked questions.

Hotel Blocks
I booked my hotel through Kleinfelds. I don't suspect many people will get a hotel, so it just made it easier. If they you know of a hotel in the area and they don't send a quote of it to you, just ask them. That's how I got the hotel I wanted to book.
