Hotel blocks question

Hotel blocks question

FH and I want to hopefully block hotels this week. Just a few questions:

1- do we need to make appointments, or can we just show up?

2- does anyone know of any hotels near Jericho Terrace that have a bar that we can rent out for an afterparty?

TIA

Re: Hotel blocks question

I called my hotel first to speak to the sales dept. If you just walk in the person who deals with blocks may be busy or not there. Plus if you call you can get info over the phone and decide if you want to go in and see the hotel.

Sorry I dont know any near Jericho Terrace. I would speak to your BM at JT and see who they deal with.

Re: Hotel blocks question

You are starting SO late, so you need to call them TODAY.

Call the hotel (whichever you pick) and tell them you are interested in blocking some rooms for your wedding. They will then out you together with the correct person.

Make a list of many hotels near your site. Call your catering hall and ask them who they reccomend. Thats the best way to find hotels for your group. The catering hall KNOWS the good places.

Just make the call today. My wedding in October and the hotel is already sold out for that night.

HTH.

Thanks. I'm not getting married until NEXT July though so I have over a year.

I have the list of the hotels my hall reccomends. Only not all the them have a bar. Since I'm having an afternoon wedding I want an afterparty too.

Re: Hotel blocks question

I know of 2... The hilton garden Inn and La Quinta. Both provide a free shuttle to and from Jericho Terrace. Hilton, I had MANY problems with... but your experience could be different. FH and I went with La Quinta and they have a small bar open to 2am I believe? If you want it opened up after 2am, I think its a $50 charge.

If you have any questions, feel free to FM me

There's a Holiday Inn next to Chateau Briand in Carle Place that has a bar. FH and I went to a wedding at JT and stayed there. I think the bar closed at 3.

La Quinta does have a small bar open unitl 2am. Its in the lobby but there is a seating area right next to it where your guests can sit down. I booked my rooms there but dont need the bar since my wedding is over at 2am...Tyleen was great.

i was told the shuttle was only free if you book 15 rooms with them and $100 each way if you dont. Maybe its different for different catering halls

ITA! We went to a wedding at Verdis of Westbury this weekend as stayed at the same Holiday Inn. The bar is in the restaurant and it's huge. Also, you are getting married in the summer and they have a nice outdoor pool area. There is also a Marriott (I think it's the Marriott Garden Inn) which is where we were suppose to stay but the rooms got blocked quickly. Both hotels are right across from the Source Mall on the same strip.

When we were driving past it, it looked really nice and all of the other guest at the wedding said it was nice too.
