Hotel/Church

Sorry- I know this isnt the most exciting topic, but had a quick question. My church is in Massapequa and the reception is in Bayville. The only hotel in Bayville close to the reception site is pretty shabby. My FH and I found some good hotel deals in Huntington, which is kind of half way between Massapequa and Bayville. Should we block there or is it too much of a drive home from the reception site? Not sure what else to do. THANKS!

Re: Hotel/Church

P.S. Just wanted to add that my FH was frustrated with trying to figure this out and he said 'Well, can't you just ask the girls online!?' Perhaps there will be another GROOM online with us soon enough!

Re: Hotel/Church

How about the East Norwich Inn on the corner of 106 and Northern Blvd.
It's much closer to Bayville than Huntington and it looks like a decent place. Plus it's next door to an IHOPs and you can't beat IHOPs

Re: Hotel/Church

the closest 2, tides motor lodge and oyster bay manor i don't know about. the east norwich inn is only 4 1/2 miles away. we went to a wedding at crescent beach club last summer, and that is wear all the guests stayed. it was very nice and a good price. i would definetely recommend it. its not far at all.

Re: Hotel/Church

also, see if you can get the big suite kind of room. it has 2 floors and a deck. the bride and groom stayed in it at the wedding we went to. the groom brought everyone back to party, which i don't think the bride was too fond of. in which case, if everyone wants to party afterwards, get a regular room and tell someone else to take that room, fill a few coolers and whoever can hang out in there. i'm not sure if there are any bars around.
