Hotel for Out of Towners

Hotel for Out of Towners

Since we don't live in NY anymore, we will have a lot of out of town guests at our Long Island wedding. Our ceremony is in Bellerose and the reception in Smithtown. I was hoping to find a hotel in between both for our guests. (We will be providing a shuttle between both sites and hotel.)

Any suggestions? I was thinking Melville would be central - maybe Marriott Melville, Hilton Long Island or Hilton Garden Inn.

I need to get our rooms blocked within the next day or two.

Thanks.

we are blocked with the Huntington Hilton - so far, they've been great.

We looked into the Melville Marriot but had a no so pleasant experience when we met with them.

The Hilton Garden Inn was also very nice but didn't have a bar....FH wanted something where people could grab a drink after the wedding.

We did our room block at the Four Points Sheraton in Plainview, which is right across the street from the Hilton Garden Inn.

IMO...You might be better off blocking off rooms at a hotel close to Smithtown. Guests should have no problem driving themselves from the hotel to the Church and then back to the hotel, since they won't be drinking at the ceremony. Obviously they will drink at the reception and that's why you need a shuttle.

I was assuming everyone has a car with them... hope that's the case.

As far as hotels, there are a few right around exit 57 on the LI. Check out the Marriott website.. Also I think there is a Hyatt.

Thanks everyone. For some reason, I'm stressing over the hotel location.

Many of our guests will be driving up from Washington DC on the morning of the wedding (to Queens this should be a 4 hour drive). I hate that they'll have to drive 45 minutes pass the church to get to the hotel (get dressed) just to come back again.

Am I being crazy? Please HELP!!
