Hotel for the wedding night??? (Update: booked the GCH)

Original post by AS

FH and I decided to stay at a hotel the night of our wedding instead of going home. Does anyone know of a good hotel in LI? I dont think I want to go into the city. I would love to stay at Oheka but not if its costing me 10k. Pl help!! Where are you guys staying?

UPDATE: I just booked the GCH. They were a pleasure over the phone , I can imagine what a pleasure their service is. They are NOT CLOSING!!!

La Quinta in Garden City has beautiful bridal suites

We have the grand bridal suite reserved for our wedding night.

A nice suite at Oheka is around $500 a night. The bridal suite is around $1000 I believe. However, if the bride there that night wants all of the rooms, they do not rent them out to the public.

I was looking online at their rooms, they are not badly priced. I will call and ask, thanks Jay!!

Garden City Hotel is close to your hall and trust me it won't be closed or under construction by June. Things like that take forever and in the town of Garden City so many permits need to be aquired -- you will be fine.

The Inn at Fox Hollow is really nice too and that is right up the road from WG.

I will call the GCH and see what they say. Thanks!!

Tiki...would you mind letting me know what the GCH says when you call?

I am also thinking about staying there our wedding night but I am worried it will be shut down or something.

Thanks for your helP!

Im staying at the inn at fox hollow. But its included in my wedding package. But even so- it seems very very nice!! Oheaka rooms start in the 200's then jump to the 400's I believe. But I imagine if there is a wedding that night, you could end up being one of the only rooms not part of the wedding. Garden City hotel s nice too! FH and I stayed there a couple of weeks ago. And while its probably not as nice looking as the other two, the service is really great!!

My friend is getting married there in February. The owner passed away and it is up for bids but they are not yet getting offers for what they want for it and the family will not go lower. Heard that Trump said it was not what he is looking for and so he will not be bidding on it.

The Garden City Hotel is great you will be pleased. I didn't even know that you could stay at Oheka, I thought it was only for events. Anyway, I think we are going to stay at GCH also, I guess I better book that soon.
