Hotel Prices

Have you guys reserved rooms in the local hotels? If so, how did it work for you? Did you have to go in and sign a contract? How many rooms did they allow you to hold? What is the average cost of the rooms? any other info?

One More thing...

I am getting married at the Villa Victor/North Ritz Club on Jericho Turnpike in Syosset...any recommendations on hotels in the area besides the Farfield Inn (I think that is the one the hall recommends and is the closest)?

One More thing...

I just called a few hotels I was looking into and was able to book off anywhere from 10-20 rooms (we booked off two hotels - one near the church and one near the reception). I did sign an agreement, which stated the number of rooms and what nights, and the fact they must be reserved one month in advance by my guests to get the group rate. I am not held liable for any rooms not booked, they just take them back into circulation for the public. In addition to the Fairfield, I would also suggest the East Norwich Inn, on the corner of Rt. 106 and 25A (Nothern Blvd.)

I'm getting married at Fox Hollow and we reserved rooms with The Executive Inn Woodbury ($99) and The Best Western Woodbury ($99) and the Inn at Fox Hollow ($155). We blocked a total of 50 rooms I think, but didn't have to guarantee any. They just reserve them until a month before the wedding. We looked at the Fairfield Inn but thought the rooms were small. By the way, the Inn at Fox Hollow is beautiful and you get a suite for the $155. Good Luck!
