The hotel we are using provides a 'free' shuttle to Lands End, or so we thought. The nightly rate they quoted us was 159, but my dad and other out-of-town guests booked using Triple A and got a rate of 129! This would be fine, EXCEPT the shuttle is only for guests who book at the rate of 159. So frustrating!!!
So, here is my question. Is this good for my hotel insert, or should I not mention it? I dont want guests thinging they can take the shuttle when they cant! BUT I do want them to know there is one so they dont have to drive!!!
What do you think???

I agree. You wrote it perfectly. I think its best that they know the deal instead of getting there thinking they have a free shuttle, when they dont

How would the hotel know who booked at that rate? I think if they just say they are going to your wedding, there shouldnt be a problem... sorry, im a schemer... its in my nature

They wouldnt know WHO booked at that rate, but they know HOW MANY did, so people would be left off. Believe me, I thought of that too!

Can you talk to the hotel about this policy?? The way I see it is if a few people booked rooms at a cheaper rate (figure 2 per room or even 4 per room), you can offer to pay the hotel the difference later on. $30 for every 4 people 'extra' that take the bus might not add up to much (after all, most people might not think to use AAA). And I think its better to sort that out in advance with the hotel than to possibly have someone denied boarding the shuttle!!! That would make me as a guest really upset....jmho. hth

Hmmm, maybe ask to look at the list and see who is there for us, and then offter to pay the difference? Thats not a bad idea... Thanks!

Re: hotel problems
I would try and work this out with the hotel and see if there is anyway that they can work out the rate or SOMETHING, because I can see this turning into a confusing mess.
People who book at $129 might not understand that they don't get the shuttle, and then they day of be rather confused.

Re: hotel problems
i would see if you could give the hotel like $200 to have them include everyone on shuttle. that is ridiculous.

Re: hotel problems
We could reserve rooms at a lesser rate, but then we would have to pay for the shuttle ourselves, and they are expensive!!
