How far in advance did you reserve the hotel rooms for your wedding? Also, is it tacky to reserve rooms in more than one hotel. I am getting married at the Carltun and am personally planning on staying in the Garden City hotel on our wedding night. I know that some people have expressed an interest in staying there too but I am aware that it is definitely on the pricy side. My thoughts were to block some rooms at the Garden City hotel and then some a cheaper nearby hotel too....Thoughts????

that's probably a good idea. give your guests a choice. i know a few people that booked rooms at 2 different hotels. some guests might not want to spend as much on a hotel room, less on a hotel means more for you! lol

I booked 6 months in advance due to the fact i had alot of OOT guests. As for booking in different hotels no it isnt tacky and it is good that your are thinking of guests who can't afford it. You can block rooms at the Garden City then find a cheaper one maybe Winngate (sp? & it might have changed it name) near Roosevelt Field to block off. Do you have a shuttle for going back and forth? That is something you can think of too so no one has to really drive. Hope this help.

about booking, i'm at the one year mark and i am going to start calling about booking hotel rooms. i think most girls do it anywhere from a year to 9 months before. i would say you should book them soon since you are in june.
