I use expedia whenever I travel. The rates are usually good and it give you the closest attractions to your hotel

Re: Hotel Rates???
try expedia to find hotels that are available, but then call the hotel directly to book it...Expedia is usually $20 more than going straight to the hotel to book...

my cousin drove to washington not too long ago & they said it was very expensive to park so make sure you get a hotel with parking included.

DC is expensive to park, but you can stay just over the water in Virginia for REALLY cheap. that way you can afford parking.
Also - any place you want to stay I would check out on Tripadvisor.com. I won't stay anywhere without checking up on the place first.

DC is definitely expensive to park - the hotels will usually charge you about $20/night for parking. Also, hotels in DC are more expensive during the week than the weekends. If you want to stay in DC, that's fine, just be careful as to where you stay, the area around the Capital is ok, but is dead after 5pm. Adams Morgan is a good place to stay for the nightlife.
I would opt for staying in VA - Alexandria has some pretty good hotel deals. There is also Pentagon City/Crystal City. Old Towne Alexandria has some nice restaurants too.
If you go to Baltimore, are you going to drive from DC to Baltimore just for the day or are you planning on staying there as well?
