Hello everyone! This is my first posting as I am starting to kick the planning up into high gear!
Can you tell me the rates that you got for your OOT Guests hotel rooms? I have alot of people coming in from out of town and so far, I got a rate at the Holiday Inn in Stony Brook of $150. That seems high (I paid $90 last summer for a friends wedding in CT). Just want to know if I should keep looking/try to negotiate more with this hotel or if this is average.... Thanks!

I am planning on trying the new Hilton in Ronkonkoma that I don't even think is open yet! Other than that...I'm still searching but I don't need that many! Most people are staying with family members

Since there are more hotels in the hauppauge area, I am thinking that if I try those, they might be more competitive with rates. Thanks!

I stayed at the Sheraton in Hauppauge for a wedding last september, and I have to say I loved that hotel. The inside was beautiful, the rooms were great and the breakfast the next morning was excellent. I don't quite remember how much it was but I will check our statement for you.

That is the Smithtown Sheraton - it's a great location, right off of the LIE, exit 53. That's where I blocked out my rooms for my wedding next month.

119 at the Melville Marriott 110 at the Hampton Inn Commack 105-109 at the Best Western Woodbury
(but my wedding is in March, so off season pricing...)

I got a rate of $135 at Holiday Inn at Stony Brook, did you tell them you wanted a rate for a wedding, ie. blocking out 10 rooms?

I was quoted $130 for the Wyndham Wind Watch in Hauppauge - for Labor Day weekend, no less!

the holiday inn in ronkonkoma (by the airport) is 159 a night unless you block 10 or more rooms then it is 119.

but it's in Nov so I think that's why it's cheaper
I blocked at Holiday Inn Express or whatever it is on 347 in Stony Brook in May at $150.
