My FH and I have a house and he is not down with staying in a hotel the night of the wedding. I am torn.
Thoughts please

Re: Hotel room wedding night
We are, but only because that's where the after-party is
Otherwise, I'm not sure if we may have...but we might have anyway, to make it more special?

same here. The hotel is only 1/2 mile from my RH, versus our apt that is 35 minutes away. Also, my whole family is staying at the hotel

our RH is not that far away from our house. it's in a different borough but only like a 25 min drive so he doesn't see the point in spending the money on a room when we have our home.. I think he is just trying to cut costs. understandable but i thought it would have been a nice touch.

We were in the same boat as you. Originally I was apprehensive about it, but it was just a really nice end to the night not having to worry about making the bed in the morning etc, and being able to just relax.
Plus our best friends were staying at the hotel and it was nice to hang out with them a bit!

Re: Hotel room wedding night
OUR RECEPTION HALL IS LOCAL.... so we are probably not doing a hotel block. or else then we would have probably gotten the room free!

it is a nice touch...i would try and convince him and especially if you have to drive then you cant enjoy your wedding and the drinks because of it

ITA, I think it makes everything more *special*. Are you leaving on your honeymoon soon after? If you are, then its probably no big deal bc youre going to be staying at a hotel there.

I think the house isn't a bad idea but only one stipulation... He carries you over the threshold.

Is this necessary?

Thoughts please
I mean it is definitely not necessary and in fact, if you can decorate it nice with roses and candles than I think it will be nice to spend the first night at your home with him :) that would still make it special ;)

Re: Hotel room wedding night
We had a jacuzzi room reserved at Vianna Hotel which is where we spent the night the day before and got ready the day off.
The day before the wedding his mom told us she was having an after party at her house and we obv. had to be there. So we figure how stupid would be to pay 250.00 to just be able to sleep for 3 hours...so we cancelled it.
I wasent upset because they day after we were leaving on our HM.
