Hotel room wedding night

Is this necessary?

My FH and I have a house and he is not down with staying in a hotel the night of the wedding. I am torn.

Thoughts please

We stayed in one for a few reasons. First one is that the hall is about 45 minutes from our house, so no way we were going back at 1am in the morning. Second one is that we wanted to get that night of wedding feel, and didn't think we would if we went back home. We had a suite, so that was really nice and we woke up in the morning, relaxed, had a nice breakfast and then went back home. And also, our main family members were staying there also so it was nice having everyone around.

FH are staying at a hotel. Our RH is only 5 minutes from our house, but I don't want to have to come home and deal with our pets (lol!) I'd rather just spend some quality time with my new hubby.

We're staying at the hotel because our RH is an hour from where we will be living.

I mean it is definitely not necessary and in fact, if you can decorate it nice with roses and candles than I think it will be nice to spend the first night at your home with him :) that would still make it special ;)

You're right!!!!!!!!!! I will try and do that before I leave before church. it might be tough, but i am sure no matter what we do that night it will be SPECIAL

we were in the same situation.. and we splurged on a really nice hotel room .. like $500+.

totally not worth it.. we were so exhausted we couldn't really enjoy it.. we basically got into the room around 2am and passed out shortly after.
