hotel rooms

for those of you with OOT guests or guests who want to stay over night...

did you block your rooms already? is it too early?

when do you plan on doing that?

*****

My Aunt got back to me already. She said they will probably ALL stay overnight. so that is... at least 5-6 rooms.

so i better start looking..

what hotels would you suggest around the WCC?

Re: hotel rooms

thanks girls.

i'm not even sure if we are going to need them. i have a couple family members who will be coming from Indiana and Florida, but they may be able to stay at my grandmothers. On my dad's side i have a bunch of relaitves coming from Staten Island. Its not that far, but i know my aunt is the type that she would rather stay over. Fh's family is all local.

I just emailed my aunt to see what she thought. This way I can see if i need to look into hotels and block rooms.

That is where I booked the rooms at the Winngate Inn. FH and I booked the Grand Suite for the night of the wedding and the night after.

i didnt block them yet and im a little stressed out about this
we're getting married at fox hollow and i spoke to someone at the hotel next door, they said you have to have a minimum of 10 rooms in order to block

how do i know who wants to stay there?

i dont know what to do - right now i can only think of possibly 7 couples staying and thats not definite

Re: hotel rooms

Everyone usually has a minimum of 10, but if you dont use them they wont charge you.. Well, we know the Shearon L.I. wont, thats where we booked.

But I dont think ive ever heard of a hotel actually charging if you dont meet the minumum, ESPECIALLY in the summer..that is the busiest time of year.

It wont cost you a penny! We are going to send all of our guests in the fall, that we definitely know are invited a newsletter, in the newsletter will be information about how he proposed, etc.. the save the date magnet, and the hotel room info if people want to stay over, even locals have voiced staying at the hotel, we may (depending on budget and how many people block rooms) get a coach bus or trolly to transport them for the day so no one has to worry about drinking and driving..

Our friend Paula did that with the newsletter tough, it came out great.. especially if you have a MAC..very easy to create.

Re: hotel rooms

I will have a ton of OOT guests. My FH is from Philly so all of his family is OOT. A lot of my family and friends are from OOT so I will need to block a lot of rooms. My biggest question is whether my Philly guests will drive up Friday night or just come up SAturday.
I am going to block rooms in June about a year before. I am thinking I will block a lesser amount for Friday night then for Saturday night.
I met with a hotel and was able to block the rooms two months ago but I am waiting and checking out one other hotel to see if I can get a lower rate.
