Hotels and Hair/Make-up Question

Hi ladies! I hope everyone had a nice weekend.

Question 1 - We just past our 8 month mark and I was just wondering when should I be looking at hotels to be blocking out rooms and also did you girls actually go to the hotels to set everything up or did you just call them?

Question 2 - When should I be looking for someone to do my hair/make-up? I would like someone to come to the house and do my hair/make-up, my mom's, and my girls. Would you girls be able to recommend anyone? I don't even know where to begin.

Thanks for your help ladies. I hope everyone had a nice weekend and I hope everyone has a nice week to come.

Re: Hotels and Hair/Make-up Question

Question 1: I started looking recently for hotels. I found a good deal, so I am blocking it tomorrow. I'm not going to go down because my dad knows the hotel is good. You might want to go down and see the rooms. He sent me a contract through email though, so it's not mandatory to go down to the hotel.

I would start calling places now.

We booked the hotel block already. I went in to speak to the manager but I didn't look at the rooms.

I have had 3 make up trials and I just booked yesterday with Andrea from Lola Loves Makeup in Huntington.

Re: Hotels and Hair/Make-up Question

I would start blocking rooms now. I started at my one year mark, Some places won't reserve a hotel block more than a year out. We initiated the conversation over the phone, went there to see the rooms and did the contracts via email/scan.

As for make-up. I just did this in Nov. and I booked with Oksana. She's coming to the hotel the day of to do all of our make-up. As for hair...I hired two different people to come b/c there are 6 BMs, me, OOT guests and my sisters / niece that need attention. I would start asking for prices now, meet people on recommendations / budget and go for a trial.

Re: Hotels and Hair/Make-up Question

I'd start looking to block rooms now if you have a lot of OOT guests; if you don't have a lot you could probably wait another month or two.

I don't think it would hurt to go and check the rooms.
