Oh, so *now* they tell us that our weekend is the same as the Breeder's Cup.

After we called maybe a dozen hotels and visited eight or nine of them.

Because this just snuck up on them, right? And they weren't booked like this a week ago when we were *at* each of them and asking how many rooms they had free for our weekend??

So, everything in that loop around Roosevelt Field and The Source is totally booked.

Back to the drawing board. I could scream!

If anyone can recommend reasonable hotels within reasonable distance of Flushing/Bayside and Westbury Manor (or ones that we should stay away from!), we'd appreciate it!!!

I would try calling the national numbers like 1800holiday, etc... because they can look up a number of hotels in the area. It can be nerve racking, but in their defense, my sister is a sales manager at a hotel, so I know what they go through and hotels really can fill up in a week's time. It only takes one phone call from a travel agent to book 80 rooms.
It will all work out for you though!!

The Holiday Inn in Plainview would be close to Westbury Manor (I believe it is anyway), and while it's not the Hilton, the hotel looks nice and the staff have been easy to deal with.

We blocked rooms at the Marriott in Uniondale.. did you try there?
Also if you're talking about flushing, there are a lot of hotels over there by Laguardia. It would be about a 20-30 min drive to westbury manor.

I'm getting married the same weekend...ahhh... Hotels that came highly recommended like Wingate also were booked solid that weekend. I believe the guy said because of Hofstra's homecoming. We were lucky enough to block off 10 rooms at Hilton Garden Inn a month ago. Stinks that it's booked that weekend! Our families could have mingled in the pool together! hehehe...

We will probably be blocking rooms for our guests at the Garden City Hotel...did you look into the The Fox Hollow Inn? That is also nearby...

This hotel might be a little far from flushing but the Homewood Suites in PLainview ext 48 off the LIE is great cause you get two rooms a living room and a bedroom also with a tiny kitchen. The hotel is clean and everything looked new and the bed was super comfy .. thats where I ended up staying the night before my wedding ...

We are using the Hyatt Windwatch in Hauppauge. It is really beautiful and not bad on prices ($150/night). There is a spa on premises too!
