hotels - marriott courtyard or somewhere else?

hotels - marriott courtyard or somewhere else?

anyone know anything about the marriott courtyard on 110 in either farmindgale or melville? It has a bar I think and it's one of the closest ones to our RH (there are no nice hotels on the south shore near massapequa it seems).

wedding ends at 5:30 so we want to continue the party and I think we might look at this hotel... it's relatively new, just curious if anyone's been there or is also booking it. thanks

I stayed there over the summer. it was nice and new. but no bar. I know my friend had problems with them when it came to the block and several girls on here mentioned the same thing.

Something I learnd is Courtyards are privately owned so their rules do not fall under Marriott Corporate policies. Be careful!

Im getting married at the Riviera and that's the hotel we are using. Haven't looked up prices yet. If it has a bar.......why not!!! That's all people really need!!!!!

me too! they said that or the best western which i'm not so into. I called the marriott for rates yesterday... it's $159 if you block rooms and $199 if you don't. we would check it out before booking though.

i don't know of any other nice hotels in the area - there are so many on the north shore though!

That's great!!! I love it there!!!! Can't wait.
Yeah we can't seem to find any others in the area either. I figure that people just want a place to crash, doesn't have to be luxury, considering they are paying for it so I think it's fine. I will go look as well. But I agree.. No best Western!!!

me too, it's so pretty. we were trying to find places near rockville centre in case we decided to go out there but it seems easier to just stay in one place. they also said that people rented out conference rooms for everyone to hang out in, so i guess that's an option too.

Unless they put one in but there wasn't one (at least it wasn't open) when we were there. My friends rented a banquet room and we had the after party in there.

hmm okay thanks i'll check it out. I just hate that the area seems so limited as far as nice hotels.

Re: hotels - marriott courtyard or somewhere else?

We just booked the Melville Merriot for our wedding night....we reserved 15 rooms and my wedding ends at 6pm so we're calling it the 'after party' because they have a bar there. The room rate they gave me was $155 which i thought was excellent....and they have breakfast in the morning. FH & I were so impressed when we went to look at it the other night. You should check it out!

i just did my room block today..

w/ marriott if you book more than 15 rooms, you will be liable for 85% of it.. better do 15.. get the discount, and if no one books it won't be on you..

just keep an eye on the rates.. it jumps every week
FutureMrsPD Posted:

Re: hotels - marriott courtyard or somewhere else?

Yeah we reserved 15 and we are responsible for only 7 of them....which we will definitely get!

is it the marriott courtyard? or just a regular marriott?
FutureMrsPD Posted:

Re: hotels - marriott courtyard or somewhere else?

The regular Marriott on Old Walt Whitman road in Melville, it's right off the LIE. The room prices on the internet are $190 and they gave them to me for $155.
