Hotels Near Old Field Club

I live in Florida but am getting married at the Old Field Club next summer. What are some hotels in that area besides Three Mill Inn? Does anyone know of one that offers a shuttle?

Thanks for any help you can offer:)

Hello Hall Twin!!!

They have 3 hotels on their vendor list:

Holiday In Express (631) 471-8000
(this is the closest to OFC, its in Stonybrook)

Danford's Inn (631) 928-5200
I've heard nice things, this one is in Port Jefferson

Marriott Courtyard (631) 612-5000
In Ronkonkoma which seems a little far away

I haven't called any of them but I'm guessing that since they are recommended by OFC that maybe they have some kind of deal between them where they offer a shuttle or something.

Thanks for the info. When you include this with the invites are you going to list 1,2 or all 3?

I'll probably try to get a room block at one of them (leaning towards Holiday Inn Express since its so close) so I'll send out that I've blocked rooms there at a discounted rate for their convenience.

Honestly if they don't like my choice they can find a hotel on their own...but the Holiday Inn is probably the most reasonably priced one.

That's what I was thinking and it will also be more fun post wedding if some people want to hang out.
Strange question but...
Do you know if it has a bar?

Not strange at all...I doubt it does if only because its a Holiday Inn...I wish it did, our wedding ends at 8pm I'd love to have an afterparty hehe

ETA: I was just looking at Danford's Inn and they definitely have a lounge AND a restaurant...according to Google Maps its only a 7 min drive there. Definitely something to consider.

Hi Ladies! I'm also getting married at the OFC this upcoming September. I decided to go with Danford's for my hotel blocking for a few reasons:

1. It's not much more money than Holiday Inn Express ($10-20 more a night max) yet it's so much nicer.

2. It has a bar for the after party and is centrally located in PJ if anyone wants to go out and not worry about cars. The holiday inn doesn't have one.

3. We're having our Rehearsal Dinner there, so convenience.

I definitely recommend Danford's!

Good luck!!!

Thank you this was really helpful!!! I was wondering about the pricing on that...did you do a room block at Danford's?

Yup, we did a block. They'll allow you to block 10 at a time. Once those fill up, you can start adding more. I just pushed the people that I knew would be coming to book right away so I could add more. You don't have to pay until you check out, just give a credit card number to hold (pretty typical for hotels).

The rate we got was $189/night. I know that's higher than normal, but we're getting married on Labor Day Weekend...hence higher prices.

Definitely check it out for the rehearsal dinner too, although you have many choices in the Port Jeff area.

Two downsides of the places are you have to pay for parking as a guest (I think $5 or something like that) and they charge $2/bag if I want to give out of town bags to my guests. I would try to fight it, but it's probably not worth it. They get packed in the summer and hardly need my business to sustain themselves haha. Oh well.

We are actually blocking rooms off at the Marriott in Ronkonkoma. We got an awesome rate of $119 a night, there is a bar that they will keep open for you, and it is located right next to 2 different restaurants. I really thought that it was the most convenient for our OOT guests. I am from the midwest so I just could not ask my OOT guests to pay Danfords prices. We also spoke to the Holiday Inn and they were rude and unwilling to keep the bar open after the wedding.

FYI-None of the hotels near the OFC offer a free shuttle.

My parents live in that area and one of my BMs has stayed in the Holiday Inn Express a few times for wedding stuff and she's been very happy with it. My aunt and uncle actually lived there for a month when they were having their house done. The one in Ronkonkoma is a little far, I agree.
