looking for a nice hotel near Rome...maybe something that has a nice honeymoon suite, or something that has a room with a balcony/jacuzzi/or private pool...etc....something like that. I am clueless...i have never been to europe! it dosnt have to be right in the city, just not terribly far b/c we want to see Rome while we are there. Thanks for any suggestions!

If you want to see the roman sites in the city, you really should be near by.... Perfect local? be in walking distance to the trevi fountain.
go on tripadvisor.com and read the reader submitted reviews to hotels.... some italian hotels have really weak airconditioning, so read carefully...

thanks for the advice! Maybe we can do 1 week in Rome and 1 week in a more remote area of Italy. Just a thought...

I traveled throughtout the country via train and it was awesome, not overwelming at all.
Florence is beautiful, and the Amalfi Coast is a very nice area to chill out in as well.
But in Rome St. Regis Grand is a top of the line hotel in walking distance to the Spanish steps and other historical monuments.
