Hotel/Shuttle question

Hotel/Shuttle question

Hello, I am looking into blocking rooms at a hotel for guests to stay after our wedding. I am realizing that I would have to provide a shuttle on my own. HOw many of you did this and who did you go through? Was it costly.

Also if you blcoked off rooms what was the average price per night you found? My prices are higher than I expected.

Thanks for you help!!

Also if I have guest stay at a hotel 2 miles from the RH do I need to provide a shuttle???

some hotels provide free shuttle service for your guests if 10 or more rooms are blocked

ETA: i see youre getting married at flowerfield, so try La Quinta bc they provide free shuttle service

Hmm ... the hotels sometimes have a service you can use ... you should check to see which hotel offers this at the best price.

My FH is from LI originally and wants to do this as well, I gues this is common for LI weddings ... we dont do this in Astoria/NYC so anyway, he told me that at his sister's wedding in Westbury Manor, they didnt rent a shuttle people drove to the hotel

I called five hotels in the area of my RH that my RH reco. and none of them provide a shuttle to the RH unfortunately! Only to airports and railroads etc.

Re: Hotel/Shuttle question

The hotel I am using provides one round trip shuttle (a van that fits 14 people). We are either going to work through the hotel and pay them for extra vans (but I haven't heard good stories about this) or we're going to rent small buses and provide a couple round trips for our guests. We haven't really decided yet.

I would provide a shuttle service for the guests, even though the RH is only 2 miles away. It's an inconvenience to have to find their way back (even 2 miles) if they're drunk. JMO.

The rooms we blocked are $189/night. Ugh, SO expensive and they were the cheapest in the area!

This is the same price we got so at least that makes me feel better.

There are no La Quinta even close to where we are going to be, thanks though.

OK, I just did this. I think your post inspired me to call at night because they don't pick up their phones in the morning.

For a single it's 209 and 229 for a suite. If I get 15 rooms filled then they will provide me with a 14 passenger van shuttle...lame...and it's round trip one time. so, not everyone is guaranteed...pretty lame I think.

I must have been to 30 weddings, at least, and only one had a shuttle. If the hotel has it, great, but you are not expected to provide transportation for your guests.

my hotel will provide a shuttle for every 15 rooms that are booked. it is more money if we want another shuttle.

If it's the same hotel I'm using it's a 14 passenger van and they will only make 1 trip. So, if you have 15 rooms that's 30 people and only 14 people will get a ride. I couldn't beleive they wouldn't tell me that everyone will get a ride there and back to the hotel....thought that was a little lame.
