I am getting married in Oct. Currently we live in a one bdrm apt on the Upper West side. We are torn about moving to the burbs after the wedding. If we decide to start looking in Nov/Dec or even the spring, is there anything we should do to prepare (besides save money). I am leaning more towards staying in the city for a couple of years till we decide to have children. Brad really wants a house & a yard.

research the various areas and read the school reports to determine which towns you would eventually like to purchase a home in. alos, make sure that you are pre-qualified or pre-approved for a loan prior to house hunting.
i would also start browsing the internet to see what is currently available and what you could possibly afford.

start cleaning up your credit reports. Good credit will always help you.
