House hunting vent.

Original post by Suzanne

So frank and I saw a house last week and I am still in shock about it and I thought I would post it.

I went to see a house on Willow Road in franklin square which is in the dogwood park section and its the morton ranch section which is VERY nice.

So we look at the house and it look really nice I actually fall in love with it.. then the problem begins.. we go into the basement and the washer dryer and boiler are on 3 feet slabs. and the wires are being held up by string as not to hit the floor.. the concrete agains the wall for about 1 1/2 feet is FALLING APART.. the foundation does not look good (frank used to be a mason so he knows about that stuff) and then there is this GIANT sized shop vac in the corner.. So we say to the agent, wow looks like a MAJOR problem down here and he actually has the balls to tell us that this could probably have only happened once (flooding) and they did this to be safe!! so what hes saying is people put BIOLERS AND APPLIANCES ON SLABS AND TIE UP ELECTRICAL WIRES TO BE SAFE? IS HE FRIGGIN KIDDING ME?

Then he has the nerve to tell me that the house is 389K and the owner will go down to 360K. And this is for a house that is old and the appliances are older than me..

Are people INSANE....

what exactly is a split level ranch? How can it be both? Isn't a ranch by definition 1 floor? Splits are at least 2 floors!

It's called a split level ranch because in the front it looks like one level but inside there are multiple floors. To get to the next level it is only 4 steps up or down. Living room has cathedral ceilings. My house has the same layout.

She bought her house before the summer I think...Its not a bad price when you see it. The entire house was re sided, New Kitchen, 2 new baths, one with Jacuzzi tub, new wood floors, finished basement, New front porch.....

Taxes are under $3800

Thats not alot...If the house has alot of work done to it. Now a days if you are looking for a house be prepared to spend at least $400,000 for something that doesnt need any work...>Well Im referring to houses in NAssau County
