Ok right now I am JUST LOOKING to get an idea of what is out there and what we can afford. My question is what town has the good school districts? Is there a site I can go on? The only one that I definately now is Lynbrook. Can anyone help me find ones in Nassau? TIA

Thanks I was looking at Bethpage but, there are 2 school districts.... does it matter which one?
check out www.schoolmatters.com you can type in any town and all the info is there..ethnicity...grades...you name it!

I grew up there and my school district was amazing. I have no idea what they're like now, but I got a better public education than anyone I know.

Syosset definitely. My friend is a teacher there and they have $$$$$$$$$ Big budget school which means newer books, better equipment...you name it. Great Neck....pretty much anywhere north shore is a good bet bc they all have $$

Jericho is a great district...I work there. Neighboring districts such as Syosset are also very good.
We just bought a house in Setauket (Suffolk) in the Three Village School District which is also good :)

I'm seriously considering it. What's an extra 20 minutes. I've decided that any house we are going to buy is going to have to be completely gutted and redone to my specification so we might as well look where we can get more for our money.

They pretty much mentioned all the ones I was going to say but if you go out East, Miller Place is amazing. My neice and nephews go there and it's a great school district.
