Can someone tell me the difference between a condo and a house? If you sell a condo, is it like selling a house? Do you get money back that you could use to buy a house? Can you refinance your mortgage on a condo? I've always wanted to know..

We're going to start looking in the beginning of next year. We'd both like to have a house. I grew up in a co-op my whole life and I'd really like to have a backyard. Hopefully prices continue to fall and it won't be so crazy!

Selling a condo is just like selling a house. You get your money, just like you would for a house, that you can use to buy something else.
It would be ideal to get a nice size starter home, if we can afford it. Otherwise I'd like to get a small condo. I would prefer not to rent ,and feel like all that money is going to waste ,and would rather own something that I can turn around and sell when I'm ready.

We're in an apartment now, and the rent is really cheap, so, we can save a bit, and, we're going to start looking for a house a few months after the wedding.

we will be buying a condo, then renting that 2 years later and buying a home after I finish school can't wait to own a home!

We would prefer to buy a house- but may have to settle for a condo--- on a side note- anyone needs advice or help on this- i sell real estate and would be happy to help. (shameless self promotion!)

FH and i want a house so bad!! but i think all we will be able to afford after the wedding is a condo.
