House vendors

If u used a vendor recommended by your hall, do u have to pay for their meal or is it free. My hall told me that i had to pay anyway.

At my hall, only house vendors are half price. All other vendors are full price.

Actually- not to take over your post, but has anyone ever heard of providing the vendors with just, like a tray of food or some hero? Do halls allow this?

Becaus I don't agree with paying $95 for my vendors, because they CERTAINLY shouldn't be drinking!!!

Re: House vendors

house vendors were half off
outside vendors were 1/3 off

I paid for 3 photographers/videographers that didn't sit for one minute. I doubt they ate.

I think vendors AND the bride and groom sahould be free!! Don't you? We didn't have time to eat. All I had was the appetizer... and a bite of my cake. That's not a lot for $115

True... And all the food is in the cocktail hour anyway and that is WAY too early for them fo be taking a break and eating! Photographers definitely won't be there because they are taking your pics during CH.

Re: House vendors

It depends on the location. When I was looking, some places told me house vendors were free, and outside vendors were half price, others said house vendors were 1/3 price and outside vendors were 1/2 price, yet others (including where I booked) said all vendors house and outside were half price.

All my vendors are half price unless we didn't meet our minimum but we went above & beyond our min so they are half price. They should be half price no matter what they barely eat & they don't drink!!

I agree bride & groom & vendors should be FREE. Just to feed our band it is costing us $600 with our 4 video/photo people it is another $200. Crazy if you ask me!

We pay half price after our guaranteed number is met.

Re: House vendors

I negotiated with my band (who is a house vendor) not to pay for their meals. It is in my contract with the band. They felt that they'd be able to work something out with the hall and be fed. If they haven't worked something out, we'll figure something out when the time comes. Only one of the 9 people is playing during the cocktail hour, so they >could< eat then.

Re: House vendors

I remember asking my BM when we booked if I was required to feed the vendors, and he told me that I wasn't. He said they could eat at the cocktail hour if they wanted to at no cost to me. It is written on my contract that they are either 1/2 or 1/3 of the price (I don't remember) if I do choose to feed them.

If we made our minimum, (which we did) vendors were $40 each which was less than half.

I agree that the B&G should be free - its ridiculous!
