House vent

This whole house thing is a real emotional rollercoaster. One moment I am flying high and the most excited I have ever been and the next moment I am feeling the biggest let down of my life... We were going to put in a bid for this house in Lynbrook that I feel in love with, however after a few days DH convinced me that the house needed too much work AND the fact that the basement has mold is just something that I want to deal with or pay over $10,000 to get rid of...
This sucks...

I know it's hard finding a house that you like and that you can afford.

My husband and I found a house that was somewhat a good price for the type of house we bought, but we are redoing everything!!!!!!!!!!!! meaning lots of $$

PS and to top it off we still can't find a descent tenant for the apartment

Keep the faith, you will find your house. It is an emotional roller coaster. We are going through it and waiting on a closing date.

sorry to hear about your frustration, but you're totally right - house hunting (especially on LI!) IS an emotional roller coaster! Before we found our house DH (then FH) and I were looking for almost 2 years before we finally found our place. But during this time, I was at the point where looking at houses just really depressed me, bc every time we thought we had a chance, there was always something else to prevent it from happening - price, outbid, bad condition - it happened for over a year! But hang in there - you're bound to find your home eventually and then it will be wonderful!
