How about Puerto Rico

Have any of you ever been to Puerto Rico? A We were thinking maybe going there for our Honeymoon depending on how long it takes to get passports.

It's a PART of the US: so you don't need a passport!

It's beautiful & fun. A great idea. I just got back form a week there & already want to go back...

try El Conquistador in Fajardo

I was there for work in May and saw 6 weddings in 3 days!!! Its beautiful!

Puerto Rico is beautiful, we were just there on vacation in March. I agree, look into the El Conquistador I heard it's gorgeous.

Actually...as far as places: I would stay in Condado or San Juan (much more to do) and do a short trip to El Conquistador or one of the other resorts near Fajardo (Where el Conquistador is located) is really beautiful, but is limited in terms of options. BUT....nearby is Culebra (beautiful island), bioluminescent bay kayaking, and the rainforest. Condado & Old San juan are very cultural & have beaches & a great nightlife (esp on weekends).

Anyways.....try TRIPADVISOR & read their reviews....sounds like you still need to decide where to go.

I agree. I went last July and stayed right off of Condado Beach. Very nice and lots to do. The local bus stops on the main street there and will take you to Old San Juan( a short ride) for about $1.

I had a blast when I went to PR with FH. His family is PR so we got to see the city and country side. I always tell him I wanted to go there for HM, but we can't because we would have to visit family if we went (it's only right).

Puerto Rico is gorgeous!!!!! I went on a cruise last month that left out of PR so I stayed pre-cruise at the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino in the Condado area... Beautiful hotel, right on the beach (I had an ocean front room with a gorgeous balcony)

Definately consider a HM in PR... Old San Juan is truely amazing, so rich in history... You feel like you went back in time

Dorado del mar in Puerto Rico is also beautiful too..its about 30 min away from san juan, and the beaches are gorgeous. San juan is fun and there is alot to do but depending where u stay there the airport is very close and you will hear the planes taking off...

You dont need your Passport to go to PR.
If your looking for a place Romantic, Rincon Beach Resort is a good place my FH and I went there in April and it was the best the sunset there is beautiful and the beach is secluded.
