We booked 14 months in advance in order to save up. I haven't let myself get caught up in any of the extras or frills that vendors offer because as much as we would like them an extra $200 here or $300 there really starts to add up fast. We're paying all cash to avoid tax and we're both working like crazy.
Best of luck to you!
This is a great idea to pay in cash. Do a lot of vendors go for that?
I think everyone I've been dealing with has waived the tax so far, it's definitely worth asking!!

I seriously can't WAIT to start student teaching!!! :) I was working part time in a catholic school too last semester. I absolutely loved it, and I'm just excited about being able to teach full time! I'm still waiting for my placement, but last I heard it was a kindergarten in Uniondale. Thank you for your offer - if I need anything I will definitely let you know

I am so glad we are al in the same boat! We are putting $200 away a week and hoping for the best we are paying for the whole wedding ourselves but we have a ton of extra expenses as well ( 2 kids , carpayments, insurance, and a million bills )

we are paying for our wedding ourselves with similar exceptions such as people our parents feel have to be invited, they will be covering their plates and my mother wants to cover my dress, veil & accessories, etc. we're using our tax refunds for our honeymoon as well. but really it's a lot of budget control, saving, picking up those extra hours and really hoping for the best! we're not going overboard on anything until we know we have the extra $ to spend and we're really not too fancy anyway. we know it's about the love and we only have family and close friends coming even though thats still about 130 people. trying not to stress :)

I am super stressed about money because I am unemployed and have been since November. FH is paying for everything including all of the wedding bills and I just feel terrible the burden is all on him. I need to find a job ASAP!

I think I need a second job! Idk when I'd even fit a second job into my schedule! I feel like FH is overcompensating for what I can't put in. He's also aware of it and I feel terrible.
We'll be okay
