How are you booking Honeymoon?

Are you using a travel agency/agent, doing it online via expedia or some other website or directly with the hotel and finding your own airfare? I'm trying to find the most cost effective and safe way of booking. Thanks!

Re: How are you booking Honeymoon?

Anyway possible. Whoever comes in cheapest wins. I did have one travel agent tell me he would match any price I found online so maybe I will do it that way. We'll see.

Re: How are you booking Honeymoon?

I researched prices online and got the best deal from my travel agent - plus a peace of mind that there was one less thing for us to plan/arrange/book.

We used M&M Travel - a vendor on this site. They will give you a quote over the phone.

Re: How are you booking Honeymoon?

We're doing a cruise & I was wonderign teh same thing. Do you really need a travel agent for that?
I think we may just go through the cruise line either online or on the phone.

Re: How are you booking Honeymoon?

We used a travel agent who also told she would match any price. I felt more comfortable booking with a person who had experience booking honeymoons and knew a little more about the hotels than the internet tells you. I booked a trip to South Beach through the internet last year and although I got great prices, I was not thrilled with the quality or location of the hotels.... but they can make anything look and sound great on the internet.

i don't think you need one for the cruise. The ships only sail during certain times so there are not that many negotiations and such that you could make.

Re: How are you booking Honeymoon?

We used a travel agent just because this is probably the most important vacation of our lives, so we wanted to make sure we were making the best decisions. They helped us pick the flight times, hotel, and activites. Also, Liberty travel gave a better price than any travel site.

That's what I figured--I can just make flight reservation myself. I usually use exepdia or travelocity or if i use jet blue, I just book through their website.as you can tell, I'm all about the websites
Also we might stay in San Juan after the cruise & that I would just book on line.

Someone here did mention that they got private seating & a honeymoon cake on their cruise (Royal Carribean, maybe? ) I don't know if you need a travel agent for things like that. I guess you could ask, but i feel weird tellign peopel i'm on my hoenymoon jsut to get stuff ( liek that episode of friends) but its different if you tel a travel agent & he/she tells the places.

Re: How are you booking Honeymoon?

Travel Agent, i wanted to talk to someone and get my specifics done and know that they are done. I also have someone specific to go to if something is not right. I think it hold more to be face to face when doing something like this, they feel responsible.

Re: How are you booking Honeymoon?

We didn't use a travel agent b/c our honeymoon is only going to be 5 days.
We booked the airfare through the airline directly (and waited until they had a sale) then used our miles to upgrade us to first class.
We booked the hotels directly through them as well. We were able to talk to the people and both places offered us a suite upgrade. One place is even giving us a couples massage as part of the package.
Research both ways!

My friend is a travel agent, on the side, and I felt so much better having someone book the hotel and tours especially since we're going to another country - Italy!

Re: How are you booking Honeymoon?

Probably a travel agent. My parents go to Vegas every year and book through an agent, I will most likely use her.
