Where will you (or did you, if you're already married) display the slipper basket?

I've been to one wedding that had slipper baskets and if it weren't for another guest at my table who knew about htem in advance, i prob would never have seen them!

I've been to one wedding that had slipper baskets and if it weren't for another guest at my table who knew about htem in advance, i prob would never have seen them!
I know, it's tricky. I feel like if you put it by the entrace, people are gonna say 'Well I'll take them later, my feet are fine now' and forget. And I just don't like the idea of it in the bathroom. LOL! Maybe you can ask your BMs to spread the word on the dance floor that they're there?

the woman's bathroom is the best option in my opinion Women can change their shoes, take off stockings in private, and fish around for their size. If it's in a public area, they may feel self concious about removing shoes/being barefoot in the reception room (i'm talking mostly about the older guests here). Plus no guy is gonna use the slippers- and every woman there will use the bathroom and see the slippers at somepoint

I thought they were going to put them out by the band/dj, but I guess there wasn't room and they ended up setting up the baskets on one side of the room by the main doors. Then the dj made an announcement, they went like hot cakes!!

I'm putting bamboo flip-flops which are the cheapest one's i've found ($75 total for 72 of them, including the shipping) ... i know a lot of people use chinese slippers so that the women who wear stockings can still enjoy them

also, check out sales during the summer. old navy usually has a big sale mid summer and teh flip flops are only $1 each-lots of colors ad tons of sizes

yep - the bulk purchase i made was for assorted sizes (mostly 8's and 9's, but a few of the others)

we had an 11-piece band so we had baskets on top of the speakers on each side of the dance floor. we had our mc announce it too. pics in album

I went to a wedding where I saw this first and it was near the DJ. It made the MOST sense! There was an announcement and seriously they flew. If you live near Flushing in Queens you can snag them super cheap! They were certain to go go go!
