How are you giving away your centerpieces at the reception?

Original post by babybride

I know some people have the band say whoevers birthday is the closest, others play the dollar game, etc...

Lately all the wedidngs I have gone to, no one says anything and people just take a few flowers each.

I would like people to take them. Just trying to figure out the best way?

I love the way we're taking care of this. At the end of the evening, the centerpieces will be broken down so that every lady leaves with a small bouquet of flowers. A few centerpieces will be left in tact for the mothers, etc. We did this at my sister's wedding and everyone loved it.

I am going to have each quest write a thought for the bride & groom - put that in a glass bowl. - than pull one, read it & that will be the winner of ther cp

We had the hall tie a ribbon to one glass at each table and whoever sat there got the centerpiece

I was in my best frenz wedding last year and she left a nice card on each table. She chose one person at each table that meant a lot to her and her now husband and they got to take home the CP.
Then for her bouquet instead of having a 'toss' they did the couple married the longest..The DJ took care of this and it was fun.
All married couples get on the floor..He started at 'if your married less than 24 hours, leave the floor' and worked his way up. Her aunt and uncle won the flowers, they were married I think 46 years or so
Good Luck

I was at a wedding where they made everyone stand up and we played hot potato with a napkin....we didn't know what we got if we were left with the napkin, but found out after that we got the centerpiece. I don't know if that's what I'm doing but it was kinda cute and broke the ice at the tables. of people who didn't all know each other.

This is what they did at my wedding and everyone loved it.
