How are you giving out favors?

On a table? At the guest's seat? With placecards? At the end with people handing them out?

Also, how many favors for 120 person wedding?

Some of the favors will be on the table such as the cake. However the more personal favor will be handed out by myself, FH and MOH who will be holding the basket. She did this at another wedding and it was beautiful.

I really like babybride's way of giving out favors. My only concern is...what if some people leave early, before all the dishes are cleared. Having the favors already on the table when the reception begins is good too, but I would think they would kind of get in the way, especially if they are rather big. I don't know...I'm confused. I don't even know what my favors are yet.

Whats the favor? I think thats a big factor. We went back & forth a lot about our favors & in the end I turned our CD into our program as well so they were handed out at ceremony(I put the leftovers in a basket my the entrance/exit of our hall so anyone who missed the ceremony could take one) I had enough for one per person, but probably could have done less, but it was a judgement call( & we ended up w/ a lot less than one per couple so I stand by my deciesion). At the reception we put on the tables silver bells w/ a kissing poem & they were basically one per couple(we did 6 per table, but not every table had 6 couples, a few had less). We also did little silver hearts filled w/ almonds & they were one per guest. The bells & hearts really added to our table decor & they ALL went(I happened to have some extra hearts, but I had no extra bells so when we got home from my HM I asked my friends who had an extra bell, so I could have one because my mom & sister didn't even get the ones at there table, so I wish I would have done more but I didn't want to get stuck w/ a bunch of extra bells either).

after the cake - when we go around to thank everyone for coming we will hand them out ourselves.

doing the same thing! i want to personally thank people for coming to my wedding

I am going to do it after dinner. When most people leave early they at least wait until after the cake it cut - IMO. By that point the favors will be out. I just don't want them out during the main meal when there are alot more dishes, bread plates, etc... They will clear those dishes, put out the favors, and then set up for coffee and cake!

I'm still deciding myself on how to distribute. I do like Jennbaby's way with them on the sides of the table or Babybride's way of distributing after dinner.

My question is this - how does it work when the table is mixed with couples and singles?

My favors are going to be put on the tables. I am doing wine bottles (full size)in organza bags in my colors burgundy, pink and ivory. So with the flowers and candles in the middle then the wine bottle around the table it is going to look very pretty (hopefully).

I put them at the table, but attached each guests name to them, so they knew it was one per couple, and then I did jordan almonds which were placed on each plate, which were one per guest.

It would work the same way as if you were going to have them set up on the table for the whole time. When you drop off your favors at your hall at your final meeting you would have your favors and then a list that says Table 1 - 6 favors, Table 2 - 5 favors, etc. Then it would be up to the people at the table to realize it was one per couple. Mine is a larger size favor so they probably would assume it is one per couple, but otherwise hopefully someone at the table can do the math.
