How are your families sitting????

Are your parents sitting with FH's ?

Or, are your parents sitting with your relatives (aka, their siblings, your aunts/uncles etc) ?

My mom and stepdad don't have any siblings, my mom's closest relative is her 2nd cousin, who's flying in from Cali with her husband....

My FH's parents have siblings, on the other hand. His mom has a sister (+her husband) and she has a brother.

I want to make sure everyone feels comfortable, but I just don't know which way is best.... is there's any etiquette for this??

Personally, I wish they would sit with FH's parents. I think it s really nice touch, but I just don't know.

If no one from my side comes from Cali I will sit them with FH's family. I can't think about that right now since I have no idea who will be coming.

Yea, i hear you...I guess it'll be more telling once the invites go out and then once the RSVPs come in...

I just don't want to make anyone feel isolated. I don't want my mom's cousin to feel like she flew all the way out from Cali and doesnt even get to sit at the same table as my mom.

I hope to be able to seat both parents together. I really really like that idea.

We are literally putting my side of people on one side (friends/family) and his side of people on the other side (friends/family).

I feel like that's def how we'll do it as far as the regular guests, but I do want our families to sit together.

I just wish we could have a table that's just my mom, my stepdad, my grandma, FMIL+FFIL. That's it..

But I guess that's not cool

My mom is going to sit w/ FH's parents on one side, with the bridal party (they already know each other so works well), and my dad's and stepmom's families will be WAAAYYYY on the other side of the room!

this is what iam doing.
but iam sitting my dads bff and his wife with my parents since this was the ONLY request my parents have made at all.

I think it's fine to combine the families if someone doesn't have close relatives to sit with - FH's dad doesn't have any family here so if he were to come I think he would sit with my immediate family. FH's mom has enough to be a table of themselves...her kids/stepkids/husband and FH's grandparents.
