How big is your wedding?

I wanted a small intimate wedding with 75 ppl max. but FH got carried away and invited a whole slew of people so I am thinking it will be around 100.

We are inviting 330 But are hoping we only get 250!!!

We're having one reception at the Swan Club, which will be about 170 people or so.

Second reception, an Indian one the following week, will be about 400 people.

Wow! Where is the 2nd reception? When we visited Villa Lombardi's the woman told us they sometimes combine 2 rooms for weddings of up to 700 ppl..we were like who has 700 ppl at a wedding??? And she told us that alot of Indian couples have HUGE weddings.

Yep. Second reception is at an Indian catering hall.

FH and I did not want a huge wedding full of people that we didn't know, nor did my parents want to foot the bill for hundreds of people that mean jack sh!t to us. Understandable.

So two receptions it is. FILs are paying for the other one.

I love all of ur problems. I am having the opposite.

invited 187 ppl when most are OOT and OOC, that both of the parents said we MUST invite to be respectful
our min is 100 and we are not gonna even make that

just be glad u have so many ppl that want to be there for u - thats a good thing

We are having the same issue. For the past year everyone has known about our wedding and everyone was like yea we are there, we are there... all of the sudden everything is toooo expensiiiive. You have known my wedding was in New York for over a year!!!! But we went into booking our wedding with thoughts that allll these people were flying in.

i originally wanted smaller- around 150 no more. ha!
we guaranteed 160. we expected 180. we invited 204. we had 174 on the day of (8 cancelations within the last week right before!)
not bad...

We are inviting 278!!!

I wanted 200-220. The 275 includes some children. I know some wont come anc the +1 for everyone really added up, so hopefully a lot of people come solo! LOL

I invited 300 people
250 are coming
175 is my guarantee

we have to guarantee 125 (down from 150). We thought we'd have a hard time getting that many people to come, but looks like we may be wrong. We're inviting around 215. of those, we know about 20-30 of them will definitely not come. We expect anywhere from 150-175 to come. Which we didn't expect either, since the wedding is 'far' (At least in some people's eyes) from where most people live. We thought a lot of people would say no for that reason. But everyone we talk to or our families talk to tell us they are all coming. So we'll see.
We don't really have a b-list. We tried to put some people on the master list over onto a b-list, but then realized, those b people know the A people and would find out when the invites when out and everything, and to avoid hard feelings, we just said the hell with it.
We'll see what happens. The invites went out this week.

we guaranteed 200... We have a b-list, but it's pretty random...

we have 240 on the A list, including 13 free kids (at least 3-5 who won't come) and 9 half price kids... that's 245 paid people...

We are hoping that we get enough no's to keep it around 200-210 (with kids) but out b-list takes us to 285 (with kids)

btw, I know i'm nuts with the kids thing, but I love kids!!! Doing the chicken dance just for my nephew (and he's not going to be doing that alone!!)

I'm having the same issue with my b-list too.... but we decided that anyone on the b-list IS secondary and our relationships show it, so I don't care... I say take them off completely, but FH feels close to them all....

we had: 140 ppl
minimum: 125 ppl
