Michelle, I bought a dress like that and returned it, it has nothing to it it looked like one big frock, go try it on, you might be luckier than me. I love the style tho. I say accesorize, necklace, earrings, bracelets and pocket book and sandals would be awesome. Wher are you going?? Do you know the new flower pin like the sex in the city look, I think that would be a nice accessory but the waist.

I tried the dress on and it fit good, I have to go to a casual wedding upstate this weekend, and I have yet to find anything that looks good.

Since this fit good, but was a bit blah, I was trying to jazz it up a bit, since I will be leaving for Albany at 9:00 am on Saturday and I have no more time to really look.

I actually wore a dress like that to our gala. So I dressed it up by wearing these blue crystal necklace (like Indian style chocker with multiple bead strands hanging) and matching earrings. Everyone told me how stunning I looked so I know it was the acessories but it made the whole outfit.

Can you make it tighter at the waist than its shown here? It looks more like a frock than a dress here. Maybe sewn a few darts in the back to give it more shape?

As for dressing it up...what about a very strappy black shoe? Is it above the knee? Maybe a anklet if so.

How are you wearing your hair?

Shelzy, an odd question, do you have any summer dresses? Perhaps you can wear them. I think that even for a casual wedding this dress is too casual.

But with respect how to jazz this up, I would probably wear a large scarf with some color in it to have some brightness. I think it would dress up the dress and make it less 'boring'.

The jewelry you posted will not go with that, it is too natural, I would say silver or more colors, not browns tho' even blck jewelry would be nice. The jewelry you posted I am wearing now with a tan and red top. I do not see it working well with that black dress.

Stef, tha was my problem, I tightened the dress to no end and it still looked like a big frock.
