I am clueless

This wedding got me so crazy I never did the taxes, I am so ashamed.
I have my tax man waiting to do them today, but I cannot find a w-2 from my old job

just be careful because an extension is only an extension of time to file, not to pay. you still have to estimate if you owe anything and pay it in with the extension. if not, the interest clock starts ticking, and that can get ugly

edited to say: liz the form is super-simple. just put down what you think your tax will be for the year and what withholdings or payments you made during the year. if you owe, send a check, if not, just send the form on its own.

Thanks. I have a feeling I will owe. I wonder if my tax man can estimate it for me?

My taxes this year are complicated.
I have severence, unemployment, income from present job and IRA stuff

You have to estimaye what you think you will owe and pay like 90% of it

You might want to try calling a place like H&R Block to find out that kind of info.
