I may have asked this same question about tortellini a few weeks ago.
I'm not a super-huge fan of tomato sauce. (Or rich/heavy cream sauces for that matter.)
How else can I prepare them?? (Will cut up veggies go well, you think?)

By the way... you can totally make chocolate raviolis. There are a few different ways even. Either a dark chocolate pasta-like exterior with a filling like raspberry or almond-ricotta, or a cookie dough with a chocolate filling...
I need to track down some recipes...
I used to make very sweet pierogi's--guess that's sort of the same thing.

BMD... what were the pierogi's filled with?
Well, it wasn't so much what they were filled with-I generally would stick to cheese--but not american...It was how I would prepare them after...Fried in butter and sugar. OMG, they were soooooooooooo good.

This sounds yummy too! My DH does not like cheese or chocolate so we don't eat ravioli or tortellini.
Please tell me where I can find chocolate raviolis!
I saw a guy on a weight loss show who had chocolate covered french fries in his freezer.
I think the point was about how he needed to change his bad habbits, but what I wanted to know, is 'are those a west coast thing, or can I get them at Stop & Shop?' Like now. Seriously.

Chocolate covered potatoe chips are really good. A co-worker brought them back from Idaho.

I fry mine with sliced onions and olive oil and some butter. Love perogies - mashed potatoes & dough, how could you go wrong?!

How about a butter sauce? I mix 1/2 tomato sauce with 1/2 butter and put mozzarella cheese on top.
Dear Fibber, Would you like me to clog an artery? Signed, BMDP
And following that dinner I will be posting re: best diets.
ETA: I really do mix 1/4 cup butter with 1/4 cup sauce. I also melt 1/2 cup butter in microwave and add it to any microwave popcorn I eat for that movie theatre taste.
I love sauce w/ butter. It's my favorite! Everyone thinks I'm nuts.

Re: How can I make ravioli's?
I ended up with a FANTASTIC concoction of my own--using bits and pieces of everyone's suggestions!
One cup of 2% milk One small onion-finely chopped Two tablespoons-butter or olive oil (or one of each!) Two tablespoons of grated parmesean cheese Two tablespoons of flour Three slices of ham, chopped Salt and pepper to taste Four tablespoons of water
Mix first seven ingredients in a pot; Heat on low until boiling lightly--and onions are soft... Add water at the end if the sauce is too thick and/or if the flour hasn't fully dissipated Pour over ravioli's. YUM!
