My boss says to me 'Stacy, you lost a lot of weight, you look good!' I was like 'Thanks! But I gained 2 back!'
Should have stopped at Thanks!
Or.....yesterday 'Stacy, I love those shoes!' I said 'These things! They cost me 15 bucks in Macy's'
Why can't I just take the compliment!!!

If you didnt have miserable times, you wouldnt be as happy during the great times. I know thats cheesy but I truly believe it.
As far as accepting compliments, I figure people arent nearly as judgemental as we are of ourselves, so if someone admired you enough to compliment you, instead of just thinking it to themselves, they want you to know that youre hot stuff!!

you are not alone Michi! I'm the same exact way - I could get a million compliments, but can't really take any of them in since I tend to be my own worst critic.... Whenever someone says something nice to me, immediately this lillte voice at the back of my mind comes up with something negative to counter it - it's pretty bad :( maybe we just need to like ourselves more, so we can see what everyone else does? I just wish I knew how to do that, bc I hate feeling like this all the time!

I know what you mean. People have been saying I've lost weight. I said really. I only started weight watchers this week. Someone even said that I probably went down a size and I said no.

OMG, I do the same thing!! My coworkers tell me how I look since I've lost weight and I can't just say thanks. I end up saying 'oh, but I gained a pound'
