How common do you think it is to have a work shower?

How common do you think it is to have a work shower?

Do you ladies expect one?

I'd be shocked if they threw me one..

I'd be shocked, too. However, I had a bunch of work people at my actual shower because I have a lot of friends in the dept and I invited my two bosses as well. I'd probably faint from surprise if they threw me one.

i would be shocked if i had one because
A. i work with 95% men
B. the women that are invited to the wedding from work are invited to my regular shower.

Now....if they dont come to my regular shower i do think they would have a little something for me but theres really only like 5 of us.

I'm not expecting one. If anything, I'm expecting maybe that the women in the office go to lunch, because we did that when our admin assistant went from full time down to part time. Then again, they like her better than me, so who knows.

I'm not expecting one they only throw showers for people that work at the main office but the others like myself who work at the other locations we get nothing

I work in a school, so there is an actual committee that organizes bridal and baby showers. So, in my work environment, I think it would be very strange if a shower wasn't thrown for you. In fact, I would take it as nobody liked me if I didn't get one. However, in a big company, I would think it is pretty common that people don't throw showers as there are so many coworkers in the building.

My gut reaction would be to be shocked ... but when two girls (both the same position as I am) were pregnant at the same time they were thrown a joint baby shower ... so who knows???

I would faint. I work on a trading floor with maybe 20 women and 150 men. Doubt it! And honestly...I hope not! I would hate to show emotion around the guys.

I think it depends on where you work....I can say that every building I have been in (Im a teacher) I would be SHOCKED if they didn't throw one.

funny you ask - i wasn't expecting one at all and they threw me a surprise one on Wednesday night. I thought we were going to dinner w/ a bunch of ppl that didn't work there anymore. i was so surprised.

I totally anticipate getting a work shower. That's just what we do.

I work at a school, they always have showers for babies and weddings. They are not surprises.

I pretty much knew I was having one since we have parties for everything here. BUT I will say I've been working here for 9 years and mine was def one of the biggest parties we've had... not to toot my own horn or anything.

I would say it depends on your work environment. I will not be having one lol to the people who know where I work.

i think it depends on your job, atmosphere and co-workers. i know i will have one at my job because my area is all women and we celebrate everything. we even gave a guy here a bridal shower lol. usually everyone chips in $5 and we get them an american express giftcard or something off their registry.

if you are close with your coworkers i would imagibe its common and if you cant hold it at your job i have heard of some people getting together outside of work to celebrate
