I am throwing my sister's bridal shower and today was the RSVP date. I hadn't yet heard from anyone on her FH's side so I asked him to please call his mom today and see what's up. I invited 15 people from his side.
Well he called me back a little while ago to say that NONE of them are coming. NONE of them!!!!!! My sister has good relationships with all of them so it's nothing like that. They are just Upstate NY Hicks (sorry to be mean) and they are AFRAID to drive to NJ! They live about 3/12 hours away. My sister goes up there for holidays and birthdays all the time for them and they can't even come here for her bridal shower!!! NOT EVEN HIS MOTHER AND ONLY SISTER!!
I am SOOOOOO disgusted and I feel so bad for my sister. She doesn't know, but will the day of. And on top of it, these are the type of people who won't send a gift.
I'm 99.9% SURE that not even his own mother will send a gift. They have no sense whatsoever!
What is wrong with these people!!
Really fuming right now and had to vent!

that's terrible! sadly, i can somewhat relate.....only my FIL/FSIL/FBIL are afraid to come to LI cuz they think they'll get lost. P.S. they live in Brooklyn!
