me too. I didn't know about the cookies or personalized cards until I joined this website. But by the time I did, I already asked them.
I think the cookie idea is so cute!! I also heard of some people having special gift baskets at the engagement party for their BM, and asking them that way.

the night we got engaged i sent them a text saying... 'so how do you feel about being a bridesmaid??'
it was my little way of spreading the news of our engagement and asking them to be in my bridal party... so yea, nothing fancy, lol

I made bridesmaid/maid of honor tank tops with the crystal iron on decals. Plus I ordered 'will you be my bridesmaid/maid of honor' cards from zazzle.com

i made them these cute cards and ordered them 'Bridesmaid' tote bags from www.orientaltrading.com
I called my cousins and said 'I'm ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!......you HAVE to be my MOH' and for her sister I said the same thing only it was so she could be a bridesmaid. I was SOOO EXCITED!

I got blank heart shaped puzzles. I painted them my colors and wrote, Will you be my bridesmaid? on them. I took apart the pieces and sent the puzzle in an envelope to all of my girls. They LOVED it! They came out really cute. FM me if you need any help.

I just simply asked them when I saw them. I kinda wanted to do some cutesy for them but I said to hell with it and when I saw them in person I took them aside and asked each of them.
The only 2 people who knew they were in the BP the night we got engaged were my 2 MOH's because when I called to tell them about the engagement I said 'Hello Maid of Honor I got something to tell you' LOL.

I ordered cookies from Weddingish.com. Everyone loved them and the we're pretty afforadble. I also found a coupon code online so shipping was free. I mailed the ones to girls out of state and left the others in mail boxes.
I made personalized 'Will you be my bridesmaid' cards on Kodak Gallery , and then had a special poem inside... I made them black and white to go with my black and white theme...I also got little boxes of Godiva chocolates in a white box with a black ribbon and put them in a black and white giftbag..lol...ok i'm a little compulsive...but the giftbags i found in TJ Maxx they were by 'Brides', and they were so cute! My MOH I did teh same thing except she obviously got a different poem , and a bigger box of chocolates. It really wanst hard ,or expensive it was just a token ya know.
