My FH proposed to me while vacationing in Riveria Maya, Mexico. We were staying at the Riu Palace, and every night we walked by this gazebo on the beach. One night, Wednesday July 23rd, 2008, he wanted to take some pics of me on gazebo. Weird. So I go and I pose and stuff and than he says 'Here, why don't you put this on' and underhand threw a black box at me. IT HIT ME IN MY FACE and fell to the floor. Well, I got mad at him b/c I thought he bought me earrings ( we went for our 3 year, which is April 18th, and the vacation was our gift to each other) and I started YELLING at him 'why did you do that??!! You knew we spent a lot of money on this trip!!' and than I opened the box, and tada a ring. Well I started doing this embarrassing Laugh/Cry thing and kept telling him to 'shut up' but in the 'get the hell out of here are you seriously asking me' way. And before he could even ask, I was saying yes. But the catch is, and this is another funny part, in order for him to take the ring out of his carry on and for me not see it, he had to start a fight with me and piss me off so bad that I would storm into the bathroom. All that to take the ring and put in his pocket.
FH brought a replica of the ring with us on vacation. I got the real thing the night we got home. I almost fainted b/c it was so vibrant and beautiful. And that was one of the happiest days of my life.

FH proposed to me while we were at the Union League ( Private Club in the city), I was trying to take a nap before we went out to a party that night when he start saying how he loved me and stuff and then he asked me and I was all confused and he repeated himself and took out the ring. I was shocked. Then we went to a nice dinner and we were able to party the night away with our family and friends

ahh soo romantic..even the fighting part lol
ill let u know when he proposes ..one of these days.. i think. i gues sitll be a verbal agreement but him being 'romantic' cuz he even said that i am picking out my ring. ( he refuses to buy anythign for me without me picking it out)
he went to order a coat online,FOR HIMSELF and told his partner at work 'barbs not here, i cant buy it'
his partner was like 'uhmm what?' lol

oh...thats interesting.. have you done other wedding planning things> like looked at halls and vendors? does he come with you to do that? maybe he just doesnt have money for a ring but still wants to do the whole wedding thing?

we havent done any of that. i dont want to do that stuff til spring time
we bought a house so money has been tight..for a while. which is another reason why im not guna nag. he keeps dropping hints but im confused
lets say he proposes without a ring.. am i considered engaged? cuz i have to pick 1 out..
it takes me 3 months to pick out an outfit for a special event...so god help me with picking out the ring.
or am i engaged when i get the ring?? im so lost.

well i would think if he wants you to pick one out you can either a- go with him to the jeweler to show him what you like and then he can get it without you and still suprise you with it b-go together and buy it and then just start telling people you are engaged since you said he's dropping hints already, all guys od it different i guess
i personally, would want the ring on my finger before telling people i was engaged...they always ask to see the ring after you tell them you are engaged. i can see how buying a house would def put a halt on wedding plans because of financial reasons

i always though doing wedding stuff before getting engaged was considered bad luck...
Shawn had tried to get me bridal magazines before we were engaged, sent me bridal websites, and I refused to look at the websites/read magazines until after a ring was on my finger....

we went ring shopping once and i didnt see anythign i liked.
my friends dad owns a jewelry factory so im waiting for her to get back to us bout diamonds. then i have to pick out a band..

oh i never answered the question at hand lol...
Fh and i technically started officially dationg via text message. he kinda was pushing me into a relationship and would joke about it and finally i was like ok pick a date (to make it official) but i had actually texted him that..so he always told me he would propose via text message and i told him i'd kill him if he did.
well.....we took our friends to dinner for his friends bday and when i got home..there was a trail of rose petals leading to our bedroom and all over the bed. on a pillow my old cell phone was propped up and it had a text message on the screen that said 'will you marry me'. the ring was attached to the antenna with fishing line
so technically he did propose via text message....but i didnt kill him lol. here's some pics..

eh i dont believe in superstitions like that. in all honesty..nothing will change when we get married... other than my name and me getting amazing health insurance.

Shawn and I were living together when we got engaged...We will be together 7 years by the time we get married, things arent going to change besides health and car insurance!!!! Even though we were together for 4 years I still though it to be crazy and bad luck to be planning a wedding before we were even engaged!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was the day before Halloween (my favorite Holiday) and I was suppose to go work my second job (Halloween Store). I decided not to go into work that night, they had plenty of people working at the store, so I called FH to tell him that I wasn't going to work and if he wanted to come over he could.
When he came over he handed me a pumpkin and lifted the lid off. It was filled with orange and white M&M's that had printed on them Teri.... Will you Marry Me??? and you could see the red ribbon from the ring box sticking out through the M&M's.

Oh yea, to answer the question:
We were laying in bed and i was sound asleep...He started playing with my hand and woke me up...I got mad and told him to leave me alone and let me sleep, so he stopped....He got out of bed, did something around the desk then came back to bed...He left me alone for a couple of minutes then started playing with my hand again...I GOT SOOOOO MAD. I cursed at him and told him to go away, but his response was why dont you open your eyes....So i opened my eyes and the ring was on my finger!!! He then asked me why i wasnt crying b/c 'dont all girls cry when they get engaged?'
