My FH proposed to me while vacationing in Riveria Maya, Mexico. We were staying at the Riu Palace, and every night we walked by this gazebo on the beach. One night, Wednesday July 23rd, 2008, he wanted to take some pics of me on gazebo. Weird. So I go and I pose and stuff and than he says 'Here, why don't you put this on' and underhand threw a black box at me. IT HIT ME IN MY FACE and fell to the floor. Well, I got mad at him b/c I thought he bought me earrings ( we went for our 3 year, which is April 18th, and the vacation was our gift to each other) and I started YELLING at him 'why did you do that??!! You knew we spent a lot of money on this trip!!' and than I opened the box, and tada a ring. Well I started doing this embarrassing Laugh/Cry thing and kept telling him to 'shut up' but in the 'get the hell out of here are you seriously asking me' way. And before he could even ask, I was saying yes. But the catch is, and this is another funny part, in order for him to take the ring out of his carry on and for me not see it, he had to start a fight with me and piss me off so bad that I would storm into the bathroom. All that to take the ring and put in his pocket.
FH brought a replica of the ring with us on vacation. I got the real thing the night we got home. I almost fainted b/c it was so vibrant and beautiful. And that was one of the happiest days of my life.

Oh yea, to answer the question:
We were laying in bed and i was sound asleep...He started playing with my hand and woke me up...I got mad and told him to leave me alone and let me sleep, so he stopped....He got out of bed, did something around the desk then came back to bed...He left me alone for a couple of minutes then started playing with my hand again...I GOT SOOOOO MAD. I cursed at him and told him to go away, but his response was why dont you open your eyes....So i opened my eyes and the ring was on my finger!!! He then asked me why i wasnt crying b/c 'dont all girls cry when they get engaged?'
FH was sooo happy that i wasn't crying and also shocked, but then later he joked about how i didn't cry

i think shock kinda makes people not cry...i thought i would ball but i didnt..i think it was teh shock and excitement..i jumped up and down like a lil girl though

We went to Tellers in Islip, that great steak place..he wanted to do it in the wine cellar but the wine steward was showing us all this wine and explaining it. I noticed he had one hand in his pocket and I was like maybe he has it...one bottle of pinot noir later...very very drunk..we were talking and I said I feel so stupid because I thought you were going to propose...he said well you are not stupid and smiled and raised his eyebrows. I started to cry a bit and he said we will go outside on the patio in a little while and I said like hell we will..we are going now! So I flagged the waitress and told her we would be right back and we went outside and he proposed while I did the sob,laugh, are you serious thing....
